With over 6 years of combined experience at Channel 4 and the Daily Telegraph, I have been fortunate enough to work in two hugely creative environments, both of which have given me the opportunity to write on a wide variety of subjects.
My primary area of expertise and experience is film – I have a BA (Hons) in Film and Film Theory – and over the years I have built up an encyclopaedic knowledge of the subject, ranging from classic Hollywood to the new wave of Eastern filmmakers.
As the Digital Arts and Features Editor at the Telegraph, I conducted interviews with musicians, directors and actors (including Death Cab for Cutie, Ben Affleck and Geoffrey Rush), produced and contributed to Reel Life, the Telegraph’s film blog (although I would hasten to add I did not choose the name) and wrote a weekly DVD column for the Sunday Telegraph, which I am still writing.
At Channel 4 my role was more commercial. I created promotional material for a wide variety of clients who advertised using the TV interactive service or “red button”. This involved dealing directly with large companies such as Universal International Pictures and the Metropolitan Police, pitching ideas, and producing content (both written and illustrative) in accordance with their advertising strategy.
Previous to my work at C4 I was the Film and Music Editor at LibertySurf, an ISP which was subsequently merged into Tiscali. In my time there I set up the film and music sections of the LibertySurf portal and was the chief film critic.
Recent additions to my portfolio have been a major videogame release – Far Cry 2 for the Telegraph’s Review section - and a four-part Health feature for the Daily Telegraph where I documented my attempts to lower my cholesterol to a less harmful level.
I am able to write on a wide variety of topics – at short notice where necessary - and am contactable on or 07968 391345.
