The cheery owner of the Fat Duck restaurant in Bray takes us on a culinary journey to find the secrets inherent in one of Britain’s most popular dishes – the chicken tikka masala. 

No stone is left unturned as Blumenthal travels to Delhi in search of spices, uses an MRI scanner to calculate the penetration of his yoghurt marinade, and even digs a huge hole to make an improvised tandoor oven.

His passionate enthusiasm about the artistry of cooking both complements and contrasts with his scientific approach and makes for an intriguing and enlightening watch.
