Your powers are weak, old man

Not content with having Greedo shoot first, and the imminent release of the 675th box set of the series (this one’s made of tin!), George Lucas has announced a new development in the Star Wars behemoth a TV series.

Yes, he didn’t get his hands burnt enough by the legendarily appalling Star Wars Holiday Special, which was so bad that rumour has it Lucas attempted (and failed) to buy up all master copies to ensure it was never broadcast again.

So, buoyed by the critical success of the “Clone Wars” animation series, he has decided to create a Live-action TV show. But not, we are told, based around the characters we know, used to love unconditionally, and now have a slightly soiled perspective on, thanks to the three abysmal and totally unnecessary prequels (Darth Vader was really once a whiny, scrawny little sh*t? Really didn’t need to know that).

George is quoted as saying, “It has nothing to do with Luke Skywalker or Darth Vader or any of those people. It’s completely different. But it’s a good idea, and it’s going to be a lot of fun to do.”

It might be fun to do, George. Let’s just make sure it’s fun to watch, eh?
